We have had the occasion to work with electronic organs by several manufacturers over the years. Some of our earlier pipe-combination projects have used digital consoles by both of the major U.S. electronic organ manufacturers, and with very satisfactory results. However, this arrangement required us to work with local dealers and music stores, the result sometimes being logistically inefficient. Additionally, a greater mark-up was required by virtue of the overhead involved in this type of product distribution.

Since that time, we have been introduced to the Viscount line of organ products. What initially impressed us about these organs was the first thing we look for in a good pipe organ: ENSEMBLE. Viscount has introduced at least three new technologies since that first encounter, and their approach to ensemble has remained consistently good, even on lower-end models. Realism of individual voices is quite excellent as well. Some of the most recent Viscount models allow for custom stoplists, as well as custom voicing. All models include full MIDI implementation. In terms of sound, technology, and overall value, we feel that Viscount organs remain among the best on the market.
